Poetry Reading

Wednesday afternoon, Alemany Library was privileged to welcome three outstanding poets to a noontime reading. Elizabeth Pode read one of her delightful poems and she is also a student here at Dominican University. Keith Ekiss, who teaches at Stanford University, read from his published book, Pima Road Notebook. He gave inspiring insight into the people and geography of Arizona where he grew up. And Indigo Moor read from his award winning book Through the Stonecutter's Window which won the Cave Canem-Northwestern University Press Poetry Prize. "Always in motion, Moor's polyrhythmic lines are choreographed to make sense of all that is most elusive in meaning: music, violence, love, anger, and desire." In all, a wonderful afternoon.
